Wastewater from food, dairy, and beverage processing lines contains high levels of organic matter, proteins, fats, additives, and emulsions… requiring biological treatment facilities that consume a lot of space.
Total Suspended Solids (TSS) from residual production materials and surfactants from cleaning and CIP processes cannot be effectively treated biologically. They require physico-chemical treatment and incur high long-term operating costs if the design is not optimized.
Production volumes fluctuating with seasons and orders cause the flow rate and pollution characteristics of wastewater to change frequently, sometimes fluctuating drastically within a short period, making it difficult for the biological system to adjust in time. Shock loads and fluctuations in output water quality occur frequently.
Odors generated from anaerobic decomposition in collection sumps and wastewater storage tanks affect production activities as well as the surrounding residential community.
High discharge volumes and high pollution levels make the investment cost for a compliant system relatively high. Enterprises lack solutions that fit their investment budget while still ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

The quality of municipal or industrial park water supply still fluctuates greatly, making it difficult to maintain the stability and continuity of the purified water system for production.
Imported lines from abroad often face obstacles when needing replacement, maintenance, or servicing after a period of operation.
The food & beverage industry consumes 5–15 m³ of water per ton of product for washing raw materials, cleaning equipment, and generating steam. Water and wastewater treatment costs account for a significant proportion of the production cost.
Water reuse is still fragmented and limited to basic purposes like irrigation and cleaning. In many cases, reused water does not guarantee quality due to unstable wastewater treatment systems.
Factories in the Mekong Delta, Central Highlands, and some industrial parks are facing severe water shortages during the dry season and increasingly deep saltwater intrusion. Interruptions in the water supply can bring production to a complete halt.
Global retail and FMCG corporations (Unilever, Nestlé, AEON, Walmart, etc.) are increasingly requiring suppliers to report water consumption metrics and reduce usage intensity. Failing to meet this criterion means losing export orders.

High-rate DAF handles heavy loads with optimal reaction time (30 minutes), removing both floating and settled sludge in the same design.
