CHALLENGES FACED BY ELECTROPLATING BUSINESSES
1. High Investment and Treatment Costs
Wastewater contains high concentrations of heavy metals and salts, leading to significant investment and treatment costs. Additionally, a large amount of sludge is generated.
2. Raw Material Waste
Electroplating wastewater contains substantial amounts of heavy metals such as chromium, nickel, gold, silver, copper, and zinc, along with acids and industrial salts. The procurement costs for these materials represent a major portion of total production costs, yet they are wasted as pollutants.
3. Lack of Technical Support
After the initial investment, many factories use imported machinery and technology, making it difficult to receive timely technical support during operation, especially in case of system failures.
NGO’s Electroplating Wastewater Treatment Solutions
- Recovery of Valuable Metals in Wastewater to be reused in production, while simultaneously reducing the pollutant load on the wastewater treatment plant, making the treatment system more cost-efficient.
- Minimized Chemical Usage to remove heavy metals and other contaminants in water, helping to lower chemical costs, simplify operations, reduce hazardous exposure, and minimize sludge generation while preventing secondary pollution. Since no chemicals are used and the process does not rely on pH conditions to coagulate each metal component, NGO’s solution allows for the treatment of all wastewater streams generated during electroplating without the need for separate treatment lines in projects with limited installation space. This reduces the number of tanks, simplifies the treatment process, and streamlines the wastewater collection system from different production stages.
- Water Reuse & Recycling to be recirculated for production purposes.
ULTRA-PURE WATER TREATMENT SOLUTION FROM NGO
- Feed Water (Municipal Water) is pumped through initial treatment stages, including multi-layer filtration (sand and activated carbon filtration) and softening.
- Softened Water is then processed through a pre-protection filter before entering the Primary RO System.
- Primary RO Water is stored in a tank and undergoes further fine filtration before passing through the Secondary RO System and Purification Filtration.
- After UV Filtration and detailed filtration stages, the water is directed to the Pure Water Storage Tank for production use.
- A branch of the process continues through Electrodeionization (EDI) Treatment to produce Ultra-Pure Water, essential for electronic component manufacturing.
- Finally, both ultra-pure water and pure water are stored in tanks, ready for supply to the production process.
